In this project, I created a short typographic motion piece using a unique concept to convey the word “Extraordinary”. I was only used black and white typography to show any aspect of life that is meaningful and extraordinary to me. I researched information about my selected feature and displayed sharp craft and care in creating a storyboard for the final idea that was decided upon.
The concept I chose were dreams, as I find them to be extraordinary because they're different for everyone. Many people tend to dream about the stars, flying, and being in space, while others do not dream at all. Dreams can be nightmares based on events those have experienced. After the dream state, the one having them can either completely forget what happened, or remember them in explicit detail.
The idea I chose to work with was how clouds would represent many peoples vast thoughts. They come in different sizes and often feel bumpy. They express the unconscious mind and are personal to everyone. I had small letters forming the cloud that resemble small water vapors, while each cloud forms different letters to spell out the word extraordinary, and float slowly up.
